Therefore, Noctua's NH-U12P can be installed on Socket F Opteron machines (if the mainboard uses only 2 mounting holes per socket or already has a backplate with 6 screw threads) using the K8 & Socket F Mounting-Kit.
The K8 & Socket F Mounting-Kit also makes it possible to install the NH-U12P on older AMD systems using socket 939, 940 and 754
